📘 Quick strategy guide

1

Find the color set first

In advanced mode, compare neighboring guesses. If replacing one color increases the total number of matching colors, keep the new color; if it decreases, restore the old one.

2

Then solve the order

Once the four colors are likely known, swap only two positions at a time. The change in exact-position count tells you whether that swap moved closer to the code.

3

Budget every attempt

Use early guesses to gain information, the middle attempts to lock colors and positions, and the final two to verify. Master six-slot levels provide ten attempts, but each guess should still test one clear idea.

❓ Color Code Breaker FAQ

How do you play Color Code Breaker?

Starter and advanced codes use four slots; master codes use six. Choose a different color for every slot, verify the guess, and determine both the color set and its order within the available attempts.

How do the three difficulty modes differ?

Levels 1–200 are four-slot starter puzzles with per-cell feedback. Levels 201–400 are four-slot advanced puzzles with count-only feedback. Levels 401–600 are six-slot master puzzles with 10 attempts.

How do the two built-in hints work?

You may use up to two hints per game. Each reveals the correct color at one fixed position. Hints do not consume an attempt, but remain recorded for that round.

How is the code hidden in two-player mode?

Open the gear settings and select Two Players. The code maker completes the code and presses Hide code, then passes the device to the solver. The code stays hidden until play begins.

Where can I build a custom challenge?

Open the gear settings and select Build a Code. No account is required: the code and feedback mode are encoded in the URL and sent through the site-wide share dialog. The server does not store it.

How is the daily challenge generated?

A date-based seed creates one fixed advanced puzzle per day, so every player receives the same code until the date changes.

Why can each color be used only once?

This version uses a no-repeat color rule. It keeps the focus on set elimination and permutation reasoning, and makes every feedback clue explainable to younger players.
